What lies ahead for Singapore and Malaysia, and what more can we do together for a better world when we share a friendship that spans many decades? This was the question that Singaporeans and Malaysians sought to answer at our SG50 Dialogue with Friends of Singapore, held in conjunction with SIF Connects! Kuala Lumpur on 5 September 2015.
Singaporean and Malaysian guests – comprising the SIF programme alumni, partners and friends – came together to discuss “What’s next, Singapore?” as part of Singapore’s Golden Jubilee celebrations. They built on the stories that the international community had contributed to the second volume of Singapore: Insights from the Inside, which explored the head, heart and soul of Singapore.
SIF Connects! Kuala Lumpur 2014 sought to renew friendships between Singaporeans and Malaysian communities. Gracing the occasion was Singapore High Commissioner Ong Keng Yong, SIF Governor Elim Chew and SIF Executive Director Jean Tan, in celebration of the friendships forged between Singaporean and Malaysian communities.
