The very first SIF Connects! Chennai was held on 17 February 2017, gathering over 120 Friends of Singapore and Singaporeans. Together, we celebrated 22 years of people-to-people relations with our Indian partners, connected with programme alumni, and reached out to members of the local community.
Contributing to the warm atmosphere were our partners, the Parikrma Foundation for Humanity Foundation and Buds of Christ, along with Singapore International Volunteers, who shared insights on improving healthcare practices in India through collaborations with their Indian counterparts.
SIF Connects! Mumbai took place on 13 June 2014 and was held in conjunction with our Young Social Entrepreneurs (YSE) programme’s study visit. Nine multinational teams from this programme engaged in discussions with leading social innovators from organisations Ashoka, DASRA, Intellecap, Magic Bus, Monitor Inclusive Markets, Tata Institute of Social Sciences and the Young Indians. Guests also learnt more about the SIF’s capacity-building programmes in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka in the areas of healthcare and education.
