Celebrating an Inclusive World through the Arts
The Singapore International Foundation (SIF) is honoured to have received the Patron of the Arts Award 2017 for the sixth consecutive year. We share this achievement with our partners, donors, Citizen Ambassadors and international friends who have collaborated with us in the field of arts to build a better world.
The Patron of the Arts 2017 award, by the National Arts Council, recognises organisations and individuals who have contributed significantly towards the development of the arts.
Through our many arts programmes, we have brought Singaporeans and the international community together for social good. Since 2000, our programmes have enabled more than 270 artists and arts groups to present their artworks in some 50 countries.
Among our latest initiatives is the Artists for a Better World (ABW) programme, aimed at growing the Arts for Good ecosystem which harnesses the power of arts and culture to create positive social change. This edition of ABW explores how emerging professionals from the arts and social sector with an interest in using the arts for good can work with people with disabilities. This programme equips participants with the necessary skills to work with vulnerable communities, manage projects for greater social impact and connect with different stakeholders from the community.
The SIF also celebrates the work of Singaporean and global artists, cultural leaders, and partners from diverse sectors harnessing the power of the arts and culture to create positive social change through our biennial DiverseCity publication. The latest edition DiverseCity, features the work of 274 artists from September 2014 to September 2016 across 119 cities in 35 countries.
