In Support of the Arts
For the first time, Singapore International Foundation has been granted the Patron of the Arts Award by National Arts Council for our contributions to the Singapore arts sector in 2011.
The Singapore International Foundation has been conferred the award for Patron of the Arts by the National Arts Council of Singapore (NAC) for its contributions to the arts in Singapore for 2011.
The NAC’s annual Patron of the Arts Awards recognises the support of private corporations and individuals to the arts.
SIF is a regular supporter of the arts in Singapore through programmes such as the Singapore Internationale (SI),an arts grant which has, since 2000, supported more than 235 artists and groups to present their works in over 50 countries. Among the SI recipients are The Necessary Stage, Toy Factory Productions and Wild Rice, as well as artists Michael Lee, Sean Lee and Ming Wong.
More than just enabling artists to share Singapore art and culture with a global audience, SI enables cross-cultural collaborations with artists from countries such as India, Germany, Lebanon and Mexico, bringing to international stages a broad range of art forms including performance, literary, digital and visual arts.
