ASEAN Youth Fellowship

Senior Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Health, Amrin Amin (middle, in white) warmly welcomed the Fellows to Singapore at the Welcome Dinner. He also encouraged them to deepen the interaction amongst themselves to forge friendships and make the best of their time together.

To kickstart the programme and build camaraderie, the Fellows bonded over a day of adrenaline-filled team building activities at Outward Bound Singapore (OBS). 

Deputy Prime Minister & Coordinating Minister for Economic and Social Policies, Tharman Shanmugaratnam engaged the Fellows during a dialogue on ASEAN, which was moderated by Chairman of SIF and former Secretary-General of ASEAN, Ambassador Ong Keng Yong.

During the visit to Facebook, Head of Public Policy (ASEAN), Alvin Tan shared with the Fellows on the past and upcoming developments of Facebook.

Harnessing developments in technology, Singtel CEO International Arthur Lang shared about Singtel's plans for e-sports and cross-border digital payments.

Head of Grab Singapore Kell Jay Lim, shared about the impact of Grab's work in ASEAN, where the innovation disruptions in connectivity have brought about convenience to improve people's lives.

ASEAN Youth Fellows visited the Singapore Botanic Gardens, which is Singapore's first UNESCO World Heritage Site.

A stop at Shopback during the visit to JTC LaunchPad where the Fellows learnt more about the startup landscape in Singapore and the supporting ecosystem.

All smiles at the closing ceremony after the Fellows shared their insights from the week-long ASEAN Youth Fellowship with Minister for Culture, Community and Youth, Grace Fu. The week-long AYF culminated with all 40 young leaders pledging to a Call for Personal Action.
