SIF Launches First Early Childhood Education Initiative in Indonesia

Singaporeans and Indonesians collaborate to enhance early childhood education in Bandung, West Java. 

Mr Jaryll Chan, Division Director, Programmes, SIF, presents a token of appreciation to Ms Renni Kusnaeni, Chairperson, IGTKI West Java Chapter. Joining them is Dr Edi Parmadi, Head, West Java Chapter, Indonesian Teachers Association. The artwork is from Very Special Arts, a Singapore-based charity that provides opportunities for people with disabilities to be involved in the arts.

SIV A/P Sirene May-Yin Lim shares a light moment with the project trainees. The 50 trainees will be further equipped with enhanced pedagogy and quality assessment skills to enable them to cascade their knowledge to a further 250 of their peers in the sector as part of a Training-of-Trainers model. 

The first workshop, which covered Quality Teacher-Child Interactions and Building Collaborative Relationships with Families, commenced shortly after the launch ceremony, beginning with a short ice-breaking activity among the trainees.
