Maths & Science Curriculum Enhancement Project

Key dignitaries from the Indian) education sector, both from the public and private spheres, turned up in full force to support the SIF-Parikrma project launch at the Chancery Pavillion in Bangalore. Also present at the event were the Singapore International Volunteers (SIV) who would be leading the project as well as Mr Roy Kho, Consul-General, Singapore’s Consulate in Chennai, India.

Students from one of the Parikrma schools put up a rousing performance on friendship and collaboration. The SIF’s partner for this project, Bangalore-based Parikrma Humanity Foundation, runs several schools for children from underserved communities and believes that every child should get the best education regardless of their background.

The project seeks to bring together educators from Singapore and India to work together to raise the standards of teaching in Karnataka.

The project builds capacity by equipping these teachers with skills to become Master Trainers, so they can, in turn, share knowledge with their peers and impact the education sector in Karnataka. Over 700 teachers would benefit from the Mathematics and Science Curriculum Enhancement Project.
