Since 1991, the Singapore International Volunteers programme has supported more than 1,600 Singaporeans who have volunteered overseas. Today, the SIV corps continues to work with communities to create positive change that is sustained, even after they leave.

Singapore International Volunteers Appreciation Evening 2012
This year's SIV Appreciation Evening took place on 14 September and celebrated old bonds and new friendships.
We also honoured three SIVs who have shown exceptional leadership in enabling long-term changes and deep impact in the projects that they were involved in.
Professor David Koh was recognised as the most inspiring volunteer with his 17 years of unwavering, dedicated service and was conferred the Outstanding SIV Award.
Ms Ang Poh Wah and Dr Khoo Kim Choo were both presented with the Outstanding SIV Special Commendation Award.

Since August 2005, the SIF Singapore Volunteers Overseas programme has been sending volunteers to help train educators from Ullon Social Welfare Society (USWS). In July 2009, the project concluded with a study visit to Singapore by four Bengali teachers.
