Singapore and Malaysia Pilot English Volunteer Programme in Schools / The Sun
The Singapore International Foundation (SIF), in collaboration with Yayasan Guru Tun Hussein Onn (YGTHO), conducted the pilot of the Malaysia-Singapore English Volunteers Programme (MSEVP) in SK Taman Sri Muda and SK Subang, primary schools under Ministry of Education Malaysia (MMOE) in Selangor. A team of three Singapore International Volunteers (SIVs) collaborated closely with their Malaysian Counterpart Teachers (CTs) to design the programme and co‑facilitate English-related activities to stimulate, facilitate and develop students’ interest in the English language within and outside the classroom. The pilot programme also reflects the shared interest of both countries to invest in young people and promote greater people-to-people and professional exchanges.
